Stock Market Olympiad (Virtual) is an online virtual competition designed for school students that does not require real money or a Demat account. It provides experiential learning opportunities for students in Grades 11 and 12 regarding the stock market and business world using a simulator.

This virtual competition enhances practical knowledge and skills in school students, aligning with the goals of NEP 2020.

Through our Stock Market Simulator, participants will develop knowledge, skills, and receive certificates while competing in a simulated environment with students from leading schools.

  • Participants will register and create an online account on the application.
  • Participants shall be provided online workshop regarding fundamentals of stock market.
  • Participants shall be provided online workshops on how to use the simulator and participate.
  • Participants shall be provided videos guiding them about simulator features and usage as additional materials.
  • Participants shall be provided recorded 20 recorded tutorials on stock market fundamentals.
  • Participants shall be provided recorded links to 30 carefully selected YouTube videos on stock market fundamentals.
  • Participants shall have access to simulator after their registration for practice and familiarity with various features.
  • Participants shall be provided Rs.20,000 paper money (not real money) in their account for buying the stocks listed on NSE.
  • Buying and selling can be executed during the live trading hours that is from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Participants can buy or sell the stocks multiple times throughout the competition till they have balance in their account.
  • Guidelines
    • Participants need to make the transactions to be eligible for prizes.
    • The use of options, futures, and leverage have not been enabled for the competition.
    • No Manipulation-Upper and Lower Circuit: The competition prevents a player from buying a stock if the stock has hit the upper circuit. Similarly, it prevents a player from selling a stock hitting the lower circuit. This is to make the simulation realistic and non-manipulative.
    • Short selling without buying a stock would make the candidate ineligible for prizes or awards.
    • Any attempt to tamper or to manipulate the results will automatically result in a disqualification.
    • Participants that do not adhere to the rules set forth in the Regulations may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.
    • No refund shall be made after the registration.
    • The computations for listing the winners are not subject to review or challenge. Organizers decision shall be final in ascertaining the rankings of the participants.
    • If required, the rules for the Olympiad can be changed at the discretion of organizers without consent and/or approval from participants. But they shall be notified to all participants. All changes will be binding for the participants.
    • If organizers disqualify a participant from the Olympiad, then the participant will not be reinstated and the participant will not be eligible for any certificate.
Olympiad Format
  • The first round will happen in online mode at School level from 23rd to 27th September 2024.
  • School toppers shall compete amongst themselves in the final round of the Olympiad for school toppers on 9th and 10th October 2024.
  • Award of Certificates to School toppers and Top 10 finalists as Special Recognition Certificate on 13th October 2024.
  • Olympiad winners and schools to be awarded trophies and Prizes on 19th October 2024 at Eduthon 4.0.
Evaluation and Result Declaration
  • Only transactions stored in the database will be recognized for purposes of evaluating portfolio.
  • The final rankings will be established based on each portfolio’s absolute return (worth of equities plus cash in the account of a participant) at the end of the competition. The portfolio with the highest absolute return will be deemed as the winner.
  • The competition is automated and no scope of any involvement of organizers.
  • Participation certificates must be downloaded within 48 hours of the declaration of results.
  • In case there are more than ten participants from a school, three toppers of that school shall be provided “Topper of the School” certificate.
  • Top 10 finalists shall be provided Special Recognition Certificate.
  • Three toppers of the Olympiad and their schools shall get cash prizes and trophies on the day of the Eduthon 4.0: TRINITi's flagship event, at a grand function having educators and panelists at Hyatt, Chandigarh.
